Ursula Davila-Villa
Ursula Davila-Villa is the co-founder of Davila-Villa & Stothart (DVS).DVS work alongside artists, their families and galleries to develop sustainable and actionable legacy strategies that prioritize the unique needs of the artist or estate, specifically aiming to support the artistic legacies of historically marginalized or unconventional artists. Her previous roles include being a Partner at Alexander Gray Associates gallery (2012-2017) and Associate Curator of Latin American Art at The Blanton Museum of Art at The University of Texas at Austin (2005-2012). In 2012, she co-curated El Panal/ The Hive: Third Poli/Gráfica Triennal of San Juan de Puerto Rico. She has served as a juror for United States Artists, the National Endowment for the Arts, Fundação Iberê Camargo, Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil, Artist Pension Trust, and the II Texas Biennale.
Ursula holds an M.A. in Museum Studies from New York University and a B.A. in architecture and urbanism from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico, Université Laval, Quebec, Canada, and the Delft University of Technology, Netherlands. She previously served on the boards of VisualAIDS, Women Studio Workshop, and ArtTable. She is a co-Trustee of the Lorraine O’Grady Trust and currently serves as a member of the Program Committee of VoCA and advisory board of the Frank Bowling Foundation.
