Gwynne Ryan
Gwynne Ryan is the founder and Senior Conservator of CAS Conservation, LLC and serves as a consultant for the Preservation Department at Urban Arts Projects (UAP). Her specialization is in the conservation of contemporary art and large-scale outdoor sculpture with a research focus on the dynamics of collaboration between conservators and artists. Gwynne received her Masters of Science Degree in Art Conservation from the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation in 2001. She subsequently served in the conservation laboratories at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and as the Chief Conservator at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden where she played a leadership role in the Smithsonian’s pan institutional Time-Based Media Art working group and was instrumental in the development of the Museum’s artist interview program.
