Laura Phipps

Laura Phipps is the Director of the Gochman Family Collection, one of the most influential and largest collections of contemporary Native American art in the world. Through supporting artists and sharing their work, GFC aims to foster dialogue, encourage exchange, and contribute to a broader, more nuanced worldview of contemporary Indigenous creative expression. Previously, Phipps served as an Associate Curator at the Whitney Museum where she organized wide-ranging exhibitions, including Sixties Surreal (2025-26),  Mary Heilmann: Long Line (2025-26), Jaune Quick-to-See Smith: Memory Map (2023), and Around Day’s End: Downtown New York, 1970-1986, (2020).
